From Matt Booth of Room 101 and Abe Dababneh of Smoke Inn comes the 6th installment of the Microblend series of smokes offered by the Florida based cigar store…The Big Delicious. First look is a dark brown oily, slightly toothy High Grade Habano 2000 wrapper. First light gave notes of pepper that varied in intensity through the first half, notes of cedar, roasted nuts and a floral earthiness was also present. On a construction note the ash was a bit flaky and never held past a half inch point. After cruise control burn the spice picked up again with flavors of earth and dried fruit. In the final stages of the Big D the spicy flavors that were so prominent throughout seemed to turn raspy and hot with re-lights becoming more frequent. I would definitely smoke the cigar again giving it another shot in a few months after more age, that might mellow out the back end a bit. The cigar was Medium to Full but the first impression of the Big Delicious was a Big Disappointment!
